Community Teen Coalition is a youth enrichment program designed to generate the skills and motivation necessary for success in post-secondary and entrepreneurship education. Under-served youth ages 8-18 tackle important issues such as childhood illiteracy, peer pressure, low self-esteem, homelessness, gangs, and drug prevention so that they may develop healthy self images and life skills.
By providing young people with the skills they need to be successful in the community, we seek to achieve the following objectives:
Community Teen Coalition, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization focused on empowering teens and the communities in which they live in through mentoring, education, intervention and other mental health services.
Mission: To empower and mobilize at-risk youth through entrepreneurial education, academic instruction, cultural enrichment, and provide necessary resources that will enable them to achieve social and academic success.
Vision: Community Teen Coalition will be the community’s premier youth program; and a recognized organization in building influential leaders.
The definition of a leader is: “a person who guides or inspires others.” With his selfless enthusiasm for youth, Dominic Stokes is the embodiment of a leader. After years of working as an operations manager, Stokes finally listened to the call God placed on his heart and began his full-time work with youth.
In 2007, Stokes founded Community Teen Coalition, Inc. (CTC) a youth enrichment program designed to generate the skills and motivation teens need for future success in post-secondary and entrepreneurship education. Upon watching the news, he became bothered by the constant reporting of teen crime, arrests and deaths mostly within the African-American community. Going along with that news, came the discovery of a sharp decline among youth in matriculation through college, as well as a lack of motivation, goal-setting and optimism of their future.
Part of the goal of CTC is to prepare and encourage youth to “don’t wait for the opportunity”, create the opportunity”. The organization assists teens with the ability to develop social enterprises and foster a next generation of entrepreneurs – both job creators and entrepreneurial employees.
Through his work with CTC, Stokes was led to use the power of visual storytelling to produce “Atlanta’s Young and Homeless” and is currently working on “If Streets Could Talk Atlanta” a documentary focusing on the mindset of Atlanta youth and their interest and involvement in gangs. Stokes’ overall goal is to equip and empower youth with the necessary tools to be the change they want to see in the world.
Dominic holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Business from Clayton State University, a Master’s of Science in Human Resources from Central Michigan University and a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Management from Georgia State University. Mr. Stokes is also the recipient of the FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award.

Dion Stokes is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia and National Board Certified Counselor. Dion has a wide knowledge of the community resources available for youth and their families. She earnestly believes in the importance of providing families and youth with services that empower them to reach their full potential, including educational and academic goals. Dion supports solution-based, client-focused approaches where clients are able to not only express their feelings, concerns, and problems, but find solutions to these problems. Dion promotes assisting clients in identifying their strengths to increase their optimal growth and development.
Dion received her undergraduate degree from Clark Atlanta University where she majored in Psychology and her graduate degree in Professional Counseling from Argosy University. She has worked extensively with children in the foster care system since 2003, as well as other mental health settings. Dion also offers experience in school-based counseling services, community-based mental health services, and residential treatment. In these settings, Mrs. Stokes has seen the importance of balancing social, emotional, mental, and educational well-being.

Mycah Whiting is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia. As a licensed therapist Mycah has experience working in various community settings which has provided her with extensive knowledge of community resources for youth and families. With additional experience working in schools to provide social-emotional support to youth, she has witnessed the impact of the needs of our families and youth in education today. She understands the importance of helping our communities who are impacted by the deficit of support academically. Mycah’s mission is to help increase personal growth and life fulfillment for her clients. She utilizes a client-centered approach, believing that the client is the first expert of their experience; this self-knowledge is then utilized to assist them in identifying their purpose, strengths, and areas for growth to help them reach their goals.
Mycah received her undergraduate degree from Spelman College where she majored in Psychology and received her graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Richmont Graduate University. Mycah has worked at length with a variety of populations, and specifically with youth providing therapeutic care and support in residential, home, and school settings, since 2011. From her experience, Mycah has seen the benefit of supporting our youth to be balanced holistically- socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Believing in the homage that, “It takes a village to raise a child”, Mycah remains passionate to encourage, uplift, and help the next generation to reach its greatest potential.
